JOIN - The Ontario Job Opportunity Information Network in partnership with Service Canada present the second "Career Fair for Job Seekers with Disabilities" on March 29, 2012 in Toronto.
Persons with disabilities have the largest unemployment rate of any definable group in our society. This Career Fair contributes to diminishing these statistics; the intention of the Career Fair is "Connecting Employers with Job Seekers with Disabilities." This event brings the opportunity to network and develop relationships with corporate HR personal and recruiters from the top Toronto employers who are seeking to hire. Current openings include a wide variety of positions in finance, technology, consulting, marketing/sales, accounting, management, tourism, call centres and more that may be found on their corporate career sites.
Business leaders from Ontario's private, public and non-profit sectors come together for this very important event that received over 700 job seekers with disabilities in 2011, who have been caught in the challenges of finding a job. Our business partners have worked with Ontario JOIN to integrate disability as a full component of their overall diversity strategy, and value the intellectual capital that is found in people with disabilities.
In addition, throughout the day job seekers are invited to participate in several workshops delivered by Ontario's business leaders who provided great insights into securing employment for persons with disabilities. At noon TD Bank is proud to sponsor Tim McCallum as the key note speaker of the event. Tim overcame a tragic accident that left him paralyzed and now sings on stages around the world
New this year the Scotiabank Comfort Zone, a space for job seekers to relax, renew and review all the information from prospective employers.
You won't want to miss this opportunity to network and develop relationships with corporate execs and recruiters who are seeking to hire, and to potentially meet one-on-one for more in-depth discussion regarding specific roles and your qualifications.
If you need disability-related accommodations, require sign language interpretation, or have dietary restrictions, please provide us with the details by contacting us via email at info@joininfo.ca or 416-241-5646 TTY 416-241-9816
